Trouble fitting in due to my accent

Asked By: Anonymous     Views: 1,357 times

I am 15 years of age and I recently came to the U.S from Africa and Iam having problems fitting in. You see when I was back home I also had problems making friends but coming here made me try to overcome it. But it is more difficult since people laugh at me when I speak. So I decide to stay quiet most of the time which makes things worse.some times people open up to me but something in me just makes me quiet which creeps them out and they stop trying. I am :
  1. Very shy
  2. Not confident in myself
  3. Have an accent which makes people laugh
  4. have problems talking to people
  5. I dont like to be laughed at.
But I am a fun person to be with once you get to know me.

The "something within you" that keeps you quiet is the content in your internal critical script. You need to be clear on what it is in order to sequence to the next step of resolving your quiteness problem. You have courage at age 15 for sharing.  Thank you.
