specializes in working with individuals who have problems with
any of the following: performance anxiety, social anxiety, fear
public speaking, panic attacks, shyness, social phobia, social
skills dysfunction, unstable relationships, avoidant and dependent
personality, performance pressure, productivity inhibition,
selective mutism, learning disability- based challenges, adults
who are over-dependent on parents, and more. obviously there
are many degrees of these problems. While our program focuses
on social and interactive issues, we work with the “whole
person” This means integrating issues like work, stress,
academics, behavior, mood, family and more.
Our treatment is based on the philosophy that your most valuable
asset in life is time! Therapy is eclectic, directive, goal
oriented, and creative; the result of working with literally
thousands of individuals of all ages since 1978.
Therapy is available for adults, adolescents, children, and
families.
All treatment starts with an evaluation with Jonathan Berent,
L.C.S.W., A.C.S.W. The evaluation process is from one to three
sessions depending upon individual needs.
Sessions with Jonathan are $180 per 36 minutes; with an
associate: $110 per 40 minutes. Group is $45 per session. Individuals
must participate in individual therapy at Berent Associates
in order to participate in group therapy. When a patient sees
an associate, he or she also sees Jonathan once every four
to five weeks.
Pharmaceutical management and therapy is available as an
adjunct to psychotherapy where appropriate. 516-872-9383.
